Christian Bale looking to be an Oldboy amongst other roles

While plugging away at being the Dark Knight in Christopher Nolan’s THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Christian Bale has a few choices to make concerning up coming roles and one of them is Spike Lee’s OLDBOY remake.

Bale isn’t looking at the hero’s role of Oh Dae-su originally play by Choi Min-shik. No he’s looking at the villain of the piece. If this came to be then it might be Josh Brolin (No COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN) verses Batman, which would be pretty fun.

Other roles that Bale has to consider are;

Clint Eastwood’s remake of A STAR IS BORN starring alongside Beyonce. He does have to run against Leo DiCaprio who its been reported is Eastwood’s favourite.

Talented rock star John Norman Howard has seen his career begin to decline. Too many years of concerts and managers and life on the road have made him cynical and the monotony has taken its toll. Then he meets the innocent, pure and very talented singer Esther Hoffman. As one of his songs in the movie says “I’m gonna take you girl, I’m gonna show you how.” And he does. He shows Esther the way to stardom while forsaking his own career. As they fall in love, her success only makes his decline even more apparent.

NOAH is a project that director Darren Aronofsky (BLACK SWAN) has talked about for awhile. Its a film, you guessed it, about Noah’s ark that Aronofsky is looking to obtain a $150 mill budget for. It does sound like a return of Hollywood to the Charlton Heston days of films.

The above are the best and/or most likely options for Bale, but sadly he has stated that he won’t make any decisions until after DARK KNIGHT RISES has finished production, around November time. All the films would greatly benefit from Bale’s involvement and it would be fun to see an actor like Bale in A STAR IS BORN.

Paul finished is BA in Film & Broadcast Productions during the summer and has somehow landed the position of Media & Marketing Manager in the London Korean Film Festival happening this November (plug). While at University Paul found his speciality lay in Script Development, scriptwriting and Editing. He has written, edited and director a small number of not very good short films but does not let that dissuade him from powering through. After the Koreans are through with him he looks to enter the paid world of Script Development. He likes incredibly bad horror films, East Asian movies, comics and lots of other stuff.
