That headline is a slighty censored nod to a Quentin Tarantino script line, I think for FROM DUSK ‘TIL DAWN. Right, into a tenuous link to Tarantino’s TRUE ROMANCE director Tony Scott who is looking to bring a remake of the classic western THE WILD BUNCH to screens for the modern generation. Deadline reports the news that the British director is in talks with Warner Brothers to reboot the classic, but he will first direct HELL’S ANGELS, but according to the article on their site Scott wants Jeff Bridges for the lead role of gang leader Sonny Barger. According to them, Bridges is booked up for quite a while. He is currently touring promoting his music album, and will then set to work on R.I.P.D. with Ryan Reynolds, closely followed by the WB housed THE SEVENTH SON.
Scott meanwhile may go with one of his other in development projects, which include a rehash of TOP GUN. He may go with THE WILD BUNCH next, or possibly POTZDAMER PLATZ or an adaptation of John Grisham’s THE ASSOCIATE. Personally I think its more likely that he will look to other actors for ‘Angels.’
