Ralph Feinnes (finds) The Invisible Woman

Ralph Feinnes (HARRY POTTERS 4-7, SCHINDLER’S LIST) is to direct an adaptation of THE INVISIBLE WOMAN, according to the Daily Mail (I feel so dirty). The movie will document the thirteen year love affair between Charles Dickens and Ellen Ternan, better known to the literary world as Nelly.

Abi Morgan, screenwriter for the upcoming Margaret Thatcher bio-pic THE IRON LADY, will adapt from the original novel of the same name, by Claire Tomalin. Feinnes is expected to remain firmly behind the camera and is said to be looking for Carey Mulligan (AN EDUCATION, NEVER LET ME GO) to play the lead. She is, however, unlikely to commit due to her attachment with THE GREAT GATSBY. So the director’s other choices are Imogen Poots (28 WEEKS LATER), Abbie Cornish (BRIGHT STAR) and Felicity Jones (CEMETERY JUNCTION). This could be a career making performance for any one of these fine actresses, and no doubt a relief for Feinnes to reacquaint with some real world drama, with not a Horcrux in sight.
