In somewhat strange, but somehow genius casting, Ian McShane, he who last graced our screens in the dire PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES, will play a dwarf in SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN, a new take on the classic Snow White tale.

Heat Vision says that McShane will play head dwarf Caesar in the film, which is to be helmed by Rupert Sanders. Kristen Stewart in playing Snow White, while Chris Hemsworth will play said huntsman. Charlize Theron plays Snow White’s evil stepmother. The film ‘features Snow White as a princess who escapes her evil stepmother with the help of a huntsman who was to have killed her but now trains the princess to survive and fight back.’

Shooting will kick off in August for a June 1st, 2012 release. This Snow White project is housed over at Universal, byt Relativity Media also have a rival flick in development, one to be directed by Tarsem Singh to be released in March 2012.
