Family Guy: The Top Ten Celebrity Voices

To celebrate the release of Family Guy Season Ten, which came out on 9th May, we’re taking a look at the top ten guest voice appearances over the seasons on Family Guy.

Which guest appearance tops your list?

Lauren Conrad

Lauren Conrad

Star of the Hollywood-drama “reality” show that was “The Hills” Lauren Conrad made a guest appearance as herself in season 7’s “We Love You, Conrad.” Ironically, she plays a genius, and Brian’s girlfriend for the episode. Lauren’s Hills costar Audrina Patridge makes a guest voice appearance in the episode as well. Paris Hilton was supposed to play Brian’s celebrity girlfriend for this episode but she refused. No loss there-we like Lauren better anyways!

Hugh Hefner

Hugh Hefner

In Season 5’s “Airport ‘07” the infamous playboy himself makes a guest voice appearance, and gives Quagmire the inspirational advice he needs at the airport bar to save the day. Better looking as a cartoon, don’t you think?

Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore

A fairly regular guest on the show, Drew plays Jillian Russell-Wilcox, an intellectually challenged bulimic who dates Brian throughout the fifth season into the beginning of the sixth season. She still thinks Hitler exists, the capital of Rhode Island is Rhode Island City and that lemons are killed to make lemonade.

Tom Brady

Tom Brady

Season 4’s episode, “Patriot Games, “which brought us the infamous musical number “Shipoopi,” also brought us star studded guest voice appearances from New England Patriots quarterback, and alleged Family Guy fan, Tom Brady, as well as Bob Costas, Jay Leno, and Carol Channing. Brady also has lent his voice to another Fox show you may have heard of—The Simpsons.

Gene Simmons

Gene Simmons

Appearing in three family episodes as himself, “The Demon’s” most noticeable appearance being in season 3’s episode “Road to Europe.” After Peter and Lois attend KISStock and run into the band at a Denny’s, we find out that Gene Simmons is “Loose Lois’s” ex boyfriend, much to Kiss-fan extraordinaire Peter’s excitement, proudly sharing on public access TV that his wife “did KISS.” KISS lead singer and guitarist Paul Stanley lent his voice in the episode as well.

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Hewitt has been mentioned or has appeared in three episodes as herself, but her most notable episode was in season 3’s “Stuck Together, Torn Apart,” during which Peter and Lois end up in couples therapy and Peter goes on a date with Jennifer Love Hewitt at the same restaurant as Lois and her date, Quagmire. Lois displays her own jealous rage by attacking Jennifer Love Hewitt and the two decide to live with their mutually jealous nature. Quagmire then hooks up with Jennifer too, and roofies her for his own benefit. Boy she gets around fast…what a sport!

James Woods

James Woods

Woods is a reoccurring guest star on the series. As a native of Warwick, Rhode Island, he is the man for whom Quahog’s high school, James Woods Regional High School, is named after. His most noteable appearance is in season 4’s episode “Back to the Woods,” during which he steals Peter’s wallet at a Barry Manilow concert, spends thousands of dollars with Peter’s credit card, and commits identity theft by using his driver’s license, social security number, passport and the title to the house to take Peter’s house, family and name. In retaliation, Brian encourages Peter to assume Woods’ identity himself and get revenge on him by ruining his reputation to the general public. James Woods, what a guy!

Patrick Stewart

Patrick Stewart

Patrick Stewart is mentioned or has done small voiceovers in a few episodes but most notably reprises his role as Captain Picard in season 4’s “Peters Got Woods” and plays himself in season 7’s“Not All Dogs Go to Heaven,” during which the rest of the Star Trek crew, make guest appearances, when Stewie spends the day with the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Engage!

Robert Downey Jr

Robert Downey Jr

Downey guest stars in season 4’s “Fat-Guy Strangler” as recently released mental hospital patient, and Lois’s brother, Patrick Pewterschmidt. Patrick has an imaginary wife named Marion and strangles fat guys for fun. It turns out Downey’s son is a big fan of the show, so Downey phoned the producers asking if he could do anything to help. They created the character just for him.

Rush Limbaugh

Rush Limbaugh

One of the most shocking and unexpected celebrities ever to guest star on the liberal series, Rush Limbaugh makes a guest appearance as himself in season 6’s Star Wars episode “Blue Harvest,” as well as in season 9’s episode “Excellence in Broadcasting,” in which Rush convinces Brian to join the Republican party, the two become roommates, and Brian becomes more conservative than Limbaugh. Rush admires Family Guy for crossing the line “every night that it’s on,” and after seeing the episode says he came out “looking like a champ on this thing.”
