David Walliams will play a role in the new series of Doctor Who

Little Britain star David Walliams has signed up for a role in the BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who. Walliams, who is currently starring in the comedy series Come Fly With Me, opposite Matt Lucas, will apparently play an alien in the new series of the show, which airs later in the year.

Speaking on BBC Radio 2, Walliams said: “I’ve been offered a part in Doctor Who, which I’m very, very excited about. I’ve said yes. I don’t think I can say much, but I’ll say I’m an alien.”

The regeneration of the show is now into its sixth series with Matt Smith currently playing the title role.
