The National Television Awards were dished out in London last night. With the announcement of the awards came a few surprises, including drama WATERLOO ROAD beating the likes of DOCTOR WHO and SHERLOCK to win Most Popular Drama.
It was very much an Eastenders evening with the British soap picking up Most Popular Newcomer for Ricky Norwood, Most Outstanding Serial Drama Performance for Lacey Turner and Most Popular Serial Drama.
For the eighth year in a row, Ant and Dec picked up Most Popular Entertainment presenter(s), while their reality show I’M A CELEBRITY GET ME OUT OF HERE was awarded Most Popular Entertainment Programme.
The X-FACTOR picked up Most Popular Talent Show, which was collected by judge and producer Simon Cowell.
In the other acting category, David Jason was awarded Most Outstanding Drama Performance for his role in JACK FROST.
The superb comedy THE INBETWEENERS won the Digital Choice award.
Bruce Forsyth was honoured with the Special Regognition award at the end of the evening.
