C. Thomas Howell has joined the cast of Marc Webb‘s SPIDER-MAN reboot over at Sony. The eighties star of films like THE OUTSIDERS and RED DAWN will appear in the film as Ray… and that’s about all we we know. Entertainment Weekly, who are the source of the news, say that Ray could be Ray Cooper, the supposedly deceased father of Spidey’s current comic book girlfriend Carlie. This is however, unconfirmed and pure speculation.
The film is currently shooting out in Los Angeles for a summer 2012 release. Andrew Garfield plays Peter Parker and Spidey, while Emma Stone has been cast as Gwen Stacey.
