According to Variety, Sony Pictures Classics has acquired Woody Allen‘s new film, MIDNIGHT IN PARIS.
Produced by Letty Aronson, Jaume Roures and Steve Tenenbaum, the romantic comedy stars Kathy Bates, Adrien Brody, Carla Bruni, Marion Cotillard, Rachel McAdams, Owen Wilson and Michael Sheen.
A spokesperson for Sony Pictures Classic has commented on the reason behind them backing the film, saying, “MIDNIGHT IN PARIS is Woody Allen at his most magical. We couldn’t be more pleased to be back with Woody, Letty and their entire team, as well as, our friends at Mediapro.” The company have collaborated with Allen three times before, on his films, YOU WILL MEET A TALL DARK STRANGER, SWEET AND LOWDOWN, and WHATEVER WORKS.
Woody Allen also commented on his involvement with Sony Pictures Classics remarking, “I had a particularly enjoyable experience shooting in Paris. It’s something that I hope I get a chance to do again. I always look forward to having my films distributed by Sony Classics because they have great sensitivity toward my work and I appreciate it,”
