Peter Yates, director of possibly one of the coolest movies ever made, Steve McQueen‘s BULLITT has died, according to reports online this morning. Apart from directing the 1968 classic film, Yates was responsible for helming films like cult classic KRULL, BREAKING AWAY and THE DEEP.
Yates earned two Oscar nominations during his long career (director and producer) for the aforementioned BREAKING AWAY, and another two (director and producer) for THE DRESSER.
Deadline report that the filmmaker died in London after a long illness as the age of 82.
