Two high profile ‘swords and sandals’ flicks have received titled changes in the past couple of days. CONAN 3D, which was just awful, has thankfully resorted back to CONAN THE BARBARIAN. Jason Momoa, Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Bob Sapp, Leo Howard, Ron Perlman, Said Taghmaoui and Rose McGowan star in the Marcus Nispel directed film, which arrives in cinemas next year (August 19, 2011 for US audiences).
In additional news, Liam Neeson has confirmed that the CLASH OF THE TITANS sequel is actually going to become WRATH OF THE TITANS. The Irish actor revealed all in an interview with the Belfast Telegraph. The actor said that the film was currently going through a tenth draft (!), and that shooting will kick off next year.
Sam Worthington will return in the film as Perseus, Gemma Arterton as Io and Ralph Fiennes as Hades. Neeson will also appear as Zeus once again. Jonathan Liebesman directs this time around, taking over from Louis Letterier.
Neeson says that the script contains “some kick-ass stuff and a very human story to it.” Read more here.
