OLDBOY Lives!

As a huge fan of the Korean smash, OLDBOY, is was disheartened but not surprised to hear a of rumours that Spielberg and the Fresh Prince were looking to remake the classic, even if it was going to be radically different. Lucky this fell away with Spielberg taking up WAR HORSE, and Smith looking at MEN IN BLACK 3. Sadly though the nightmare has returned.

Mandate Pictures, the company with the US rights have apparently fallen in love with the new script delivered by I A LEGEND scribe, Mark Protosevich. The studio is aiming to have Spielbergback on the project but with WAR HORSE wrapping up and pre-production on ROBOPOCALYPSE, it looks unlike. The next contender being either, Danny Boyle or Matthew Vaughn, even though he’s pretty busy with KICK ASS 2: BALLS TO THE WALL and then possibly SUPERIOR.

There is a long way until any filmmaker is signed on but if you can’t wait for a remake of OLDBOYhave a look below;

Paul finished is BA in Film & Broadcast Productions during the summer and has somehow landed the position of Media & Marketing Manager in the London Korean Film Festival happening this November (plug). While at University Paul found his speciality lay in Script Development, scriptwriting and Editing. He has written, edited and director a small number of not very good short films but does not let that dissuade him from powering through. After the Koreans are through with him he looks to enter the paid world of Script Development. He likes incredibly bad horror films, East Asian movies, comics and lots of other stuff.
