Deadline are reporting that Marc Guggenheim, Michael Green and Greg Berlanti, the writers of GREEN LANTERN, which is currently in pre-production over at Warner Brothers, are set to hand in their final draft screenplay for another comic book movie to the studio in December.
THE FLASH is based on the DC Comics series of the same name. We’re hearing that Bradley Cooper, who is currently shooting THE HANGOVER 2, could be headlining the film.
Speculation was rife as to who may direct the film, with Berlanti’s name at the forefront after directing this past weekend’s number two movie LIFE AS WE KNOW IT. Deadline says that it’s doubtful that he will helm THE FLASH though.
“He won’t want to direct it because he kinda wants to do something in between size-wise first before attempting something that large. If Warner Bros does like the script and wants him to direct it…But that’s a lot of ifs. And all of it is moot if they don’t dig the script. Green Lantern wasn’t real until the studio liked the draft.”
The site also reports that the screenplay for the sequel to GREEN LANTERN from the trio is also due around Christmas.
