It looks like SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE and the upcoming 127 HOURS helmer Danny Boyle may be looking to return to one of the film franchises that helped cemented his name in Hollywood. 28 DAYS LATER was one of the best zombie flicks of the past ten years, and it spawned a great little sequel called 28 WEEKS LATER, which Boyle produced. Now it seems that a film possibly entitled 28 MONTHS LATER could be on the cards, with Boyle back behind the camera for some more fun.

For those wondering, this news has come from Boyle himself. The director indicated to a good friend of our site that “there’s another 28 Days Later in the works.” When asked if the title would be 28 Months Later, Boyle replied “In theory, yes.” Immediately the next question was if he’d be producing, to which Boyle responded, “Actually I want to direct it.” There you have it, kids. From the horse’s mouth.

Wow, what do we think. 127 HOURS looks amazing, and  Boyle doesn’t simply opt for any old trash, sothere has to be some gravitas about the possibility of a new sequel. Or, perhaps he simply likes films with numbers in the title.
