The latest Jerry Bruckheimer blockbuster Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time got its big world premiere yesterday… at a shopping centre in west London. Yes, the massive shopping/ entertainment-plex Westfield was the location for the star-studded event, which saw the likes of Bruckheimer, director Mike Newell and stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton and Sir Ben Kingsley take to the red carpet.
The film, which stars a largely British cast, hits cinemas everywhere later this month. So how did Brokeback Mountain star Jake feel about being the only American on the red carpet?
“That was how it felt when I was making the movie. I was pretty much the only American. But then, the Prince of Persia is out of place in the movie and he’s not really a part of the royal family anyway, so it feels appropriate. It feels fitting,” He said to ITN.
You can watch the whole event recorded live on UStream below.
The film itself is out on May 21.
