Here’s some great news for fans of all things Tolkein, Peter Jackson and LORD OF THE RINGS. It seems that the Guillermo del Toro helmed prequel movies are set to start rolling before cameras in New Zealand this coming June. The production is set to last a massive 14 months!!! Wow!
The word is that New Line/Warner Bros. have been targeting December 2011 and December 2012 releases for the two installments, according to Production Weekly, although this does depend on the outcome of the MGM sale.
Andy Serkis, Ian McKellen, Hugo Weaving and Cate Blanchett are all expected to star…
