Redmond O’Neal has been sent back to prison.
Redmond – the son of Ryan O’Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett – was arrested on December 29 on a felony drug charge and a judge ordered him to return to an in-custody drug treatment centre for breaking his probation terms.
Judge Michael Tynan told him: “It seems to me you haven’t got a clue as to what recovery means. It’s a lifetime commitment. It’s grinding, hard, painful work.”
The 24 year old will return to the Impact Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in Pasadena for 30 days before returning to court for a progress report.
Redmond’s lawyer Richard Pintal said: “The defence, the prosecution, and the treatment team all agreed with the court’s order.”
He began rehab at the Impact last September and was ordered to receive treatment for 12 months.
Redmond previously received treatment at the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, California, for a January 2008 drug arrest.
