Sam Raimi has reportedly been auditioning female actresses to play The Black Cat in 'Spider Man 4'.
The director has met with actresses Rachel McAdams and Romala Garai, but is still casting the femme fatale role for the female character, who is expected to become a new love interest for Spider Man.
A source told website HeyUGuys.co.uk: "There are a number of actresses currently being considered for the role, but this at least confirms that Hardy is going to be in the film."
The character has reportedly been modified from the original daughter of a cat burglar to be the daughter of the new editor of the Daily Bugle - the paper where Spiderman is a photographer - and the source suggested that he could also be a villain.
Meanwhile Bruce Campbell recently confirmed he will have "a major part" in the next film in the series and claimed it would begin filming in January.
