Chace Crawford has been training for 'Footloose' for months, even though filming hasn't started yet.
The 'Gossip Girl' actor is undergoing a series of gruelling workouts in preparation for the lead role in the film of Ren McCormack, and the film's director, Kenny Ortega, said he "loves it".
He said: "He's doing dance training and physical training. We have a great teacher working with him there - he wanted it, he loves it.
"We have a great script, we have Chace, and an excited studio.
"We just did a big scene from the movie, just as a little sizzle, a little test - a place for us to stretch together, he was dancing in it and he's going to be great."
Zac Efron had originally been linked with the role in the remake of the 1984 film, but he dropped out to be replaced by Chase in March.
Chase has previously said preparing for the role has left him "extremely sore".
'Footloose' will start shooting in March 2010.
