The Weinstein Company have announced that they have greenlit a third HALLOWEEN movie. HALLOWEEN 3D, yes it will be in 3-D, will hit cinemas in the summer of 2010. The Weinstein Co's co-chairman Bob Weinstein told The Los Angeles Times that Rob Zombie will not return for the third flick in the revamped series. Instead, he's off to remake THE BLOB (as we reported last Friday).

HALLOWEEN II opened at number two at the US box-office this past weekend, with just over $17 million in ticket sales.
