kirk-pine.jpgThe Hollywood Reporter says that Chris Pine, who is Hollywood's hot stuff at the moment after his stint as Captain Kirk in JJ Abrams STAR TREK, is in talks to join director TonyScott's UNSTOPPABLE opposite Denzel Washington.

Mark Bomback's script centers on an experienced train engineer (Washington) about to be laid off as part of company cutbacks and the newbie (Pine) conductor hired to replace him.

They find themselves in a race against time to stop an unmanned, half-mile-long freight train carrying enough combustible liquids and poisonous gas to wipe out a nearby city.
